Resistance titles will be no more, says Insomniac
Insomniac has officially stated that they will not be adding any more Resistance games to the already stellar library in the Chimeran afterworld. According to VG 24/7, CEO Ted Price said just that, “We won’t be making any more Resistances.” It makes sense as well, story-wise. Their latest on the PS3, introduced Joseph Capelli who actually … well, spoiler alert in case you haven’t picked it up yet.
We have yet to see what the Vita’s version of Resistance has yet to offer, but something tells me Burning Skies won’t be starting any huge new storylines that demand a sequel. Price went on to mention a little bit more about what it is Insomniac has been working on at the Game::Business:: Law Summit which seems to be all social and web-based. “It’s thanks to browsers that are getting better and more powerful. It’s thanks to development teams—core traditional game teams who are moving into the space.”
Resistance 3 was Insomniac’s first game that went for the social gaming aspect and it looks like that’s the direction they’ll be heading in for the next year. Until Overstrike is revealed, of course.
