Here’s how to get into the Final Fantasy XIV Open Beta
If you missed out on the opportunity to get the closed beta for Final Fantasy XIV, then pick up your teary face and turn that frown upside-down!
Basically, in preparation of its release on September 30th, Square Enix has blessed its devoted follows with an open beta test, so they can commence polishing up before sending the game to the shelves.
If you’re one of the many people who’ll be interested in such a thing, here’s our simple step by step guide for getting your grabby hands on a copy:
I. Click here (http://entry.ffxiv.com/ ). As of 8:00am EDT the page is live but there’s only a link to download the client. Keep checking back frequently to see when they’ll be giving out the registration codes.
II. Log in with your Square Enix account, you’ll then be issued with a registration code. If you don’t have one, you’ll need to create one here.
III. Then you have to register you registration code, funnily enough, on the Square Enix Account Management System.
IV. “Click “Select Service” from “Services and Options” on the left menu. Select “FINAL FANTASY XIV” from the services available and then “Add a service account.” Enter the registration code you’ve been issued and proceed to the end of registration.” (I think it’s best coming from Square Enix themselves)
Here’s the links to both the account management system (https://secure.square-enix.com/account/), should you need it, and the client software, used for installation (http://entry.ffxiv.com/)
A few other things to note:
If you were lucky enough to be part of the closed beta, you won’t need to redownload the client software.
If you wish to take your character NAME from the beta, into the commercial release, chose the same world as you chose in the beta.
Happy hunting.
