Shepard space-docking Mass Effect 2 onto PlayStation 3 next year
During EA’s keynote speech at Gamescom today, they announced BioWare’s Mass Effect 2 will be making its way to the PlayStation 3 next year. When next year, you might ask? How about next January, space cadets? Captain Shepard better start packing his bags, because there is plenty of PlayStation booty to be had! Despite the massive success of the title on the PC and Xbox 360, PS3 owners have had a hole in their hearts that one Shepard could fill. Well, you’re about to get your hole plugged, big time! January 2011, PlayStation 3ers get their holes plugged. You read it here first (at least about the hole-plugging).
Despite the original Mass Effect remaining an Xbox 360 exclusive, PlayStation 3 fans should be optimistic that they’re going to get their hands on the highly touted sequel. In addition to the Mass Effect 2 news, BioWare showed off Dragon Age 2 teasers and new gameplay footage of Star Wars: The Old Republic. All in all, it sounds like a damn hoot over at Gamescom. It is too bad I’m stuck in an office in Austin right now. Keep checking back here for the hotness coming out of the event.
