Tekken X Street Fighter and vice versa announced

Why aren’t I at Comic-Con? Why aren’t you at Comic-Con? I have to ask because the hawt game news just keeps popping up in the San Diego Convention Center. Yesterday it was the reveal of space combat in Star Wars: The Old Republic, today Capcom has confirmed Street Fighter X Tekken. In a one-two punch, Namco has simultaneously confirmed Tekken X Street Fighter.

Capcom got to fire off first, showing off a trailer for long-rumored 2D Street Fighter X Tekken during a Comic-Con panel. In a later panel, Namco would announce their own development of Tekken X Street Fighter. Without any screens or video, however, the game is rumored to be developed as a 3D fighter. These games will be developed by the separate studios, in what feels like a competition of sorts.
