Zombies incoming: Dead Rising 2: Case Zero gets priced, dated

The Xbox Live exclusive downloadable prequel Dead Rising 2: Case Zero has been officially dated for August 31^st. The price will be a meager 400 Microsoft points or five American dollars. A paltry sum for fans of the madcap, creative zombie destruction the Dead Rising series offers.

The prequel will be fans’ first introduction to the new, exquisitely named hero, Chuck Greene. One can only assume the sheer testicular power of his name will be included in the game’s weapon set. The prequel will feature a taste of gameplay elements from the full game currently dated for September 28^th. Included among these will be creatable combo weapons, so you can look forward to hastily lashing that croquet mallet you found to the rotating blade of the lawnmower from the garden supplies section, creating a hellish whirling dervish that both slices and bludgeons your enemies to a pulpy demise. Sweet.
