Disregard wrenches, play Alien Swarm, get a new Team Fortress 2 hat

Valve has stealthily added a new piece of headgear to its popular military themed hat collection simulator, better known as Team Fortress 2. The Alien Parasite “hat”, which consists of a green clawed, many-legged beast perched daintily on the top of your favorite class’s noggin, can be acquired by completing a fairly simple achievement in Valve’s recently released game, Alien Swarm.

By completing any two co-op missions in Alien Swarm you too/two can be the proud owner of the headcrab-esque creature. Mine has lovingly attached itself to my Heavy’s brainstem and seems to be influencing his speech a little. His normally broken English pocked marked with various violent Russian imagery has been inexplicable replaced with some mindless drooling and aimless shambling. The medic looks worried, but I think he’ll be fine.
