PS3 gamers to get free Mafia II day-of DLC, Jimmy what!?

Don’t know who Jimmy is? Well, let me fill you in. Jimmy is a character, a mercenary if you will, that you can control if you download the recently revealed DLC pack that will be put up for free download on Mafia II’s launch day. Worried you won’t know what you’re looking for? I’ll give you a hint: it’s called Betrayal of Jimmy. It’ll be next to Jimmy’s Vendetta.

The content boasts a variety of arcade-style shooting missions, driving challenges and a leaderboard system. Gameplay is said to be closer to traditional Mafia II style, as you are tasked with taking Jimmy through old and new locations. What’s more, is that there has been promise of a leaderboard competition. So blow the dust off your competitive side, guys, it’s time to kick some ass!

August 24 is the date Mafia II is set for release, for PC, Xbox 360, and PS3, so get your Tommy guns ready. The DLC will be available on day one via voucher codes found in every new PS3 copy or for $9.99 on PSN. Sadly, you Xbox 360 and PC users won’t get the DLC for free.
