New Brink gameplay video gives us a peak at what’s to come

Brink

In a universe full of popular shooters, Splash Damage’s CEO, Paul Wedgewood, tells us why Brink stands apart in a recent interview. What we see is a brief, but solid, look at the customization aspect that players can dive into when they unlock parts through leveling. Whether you play on or offline your avatar progresses the same. We also get an in depth feel of the new physics system being implemented called S.M.A.R.T., which stands for Smooth Movement Across Random Terrain.

S.M.A.R.T. gives the player the ability to interact with the environment in a way that we have all wanted.  Wedgewood explains, “These are all things that we can do in real life, even if we are not super-fit soldiers.”  How many times have you been stuck in a room due to a freaking table that’s right there in front of you, but you can’t lard-roll over or under it because the game’s physics is giving you the big middle finger!! That’s what we thought. Check the video and don’t forget to wipe the dribble from your faces, 2011 can’t get here soon enough.
