Valve announces Team Fortress 2 Wiki and “Oncoming Storm”
I always look forward to blog posts from Valve, especially regarding my favorite online shooter out there, Team Fortress 2. So this the latest entry was all kinds of awesome. Well, awesome-in-the-making, anyway. Robin Walker, lead designer for TF2, posted on the official blog numerous hints, portents, and omens for a new update on the horizon. What could it be? My money is on the long awaited Engineer update that has been teased on a few occasions. Multiple turrets? Land mines? Seeker missiles? Who knows!
But that wasn’t the only news. The Team Fortress 2 Wiki is also available for your information needs. Collecting everything a new player or old merc would need to know. Crafting recipes, map strategies, random facts, and more are all now at your fingertips. And users can add their own tried and true techniques and found Easter eggs to the wiki. (That’s what makes it a wiki, right?)
But that’s not all. Also announced is the upcoming Polycount Pack Update. Begun in May, Valve’s Polycount contest allowed users to come up and submit their own designs for various in-game items, including hats and weapons. Well, the contest is now over, so hopefully you all got your entries in. The winners will be announced July 12th, and their madcap designs added to the game in the coming months for everyone to enjoy.
All that aside, it wouldn’t be Valve if they actually came out and gloated about what was coming. So we just have to sit back and wait. For awesomeness.
