Surprises, 5 minute quarters coming to Madden 11 demo

In a dramatic shift from its typical one minute quartered demos, Madden 11 is boasting a full five minutes per quarter for this years installment. Assuming it lets you play out all four quarters, that gives Manning and the Colts a solid twenty minutes to give ample spankings to Sanchez and the Jets.  Yes, you inferred correctly, the two playable teams in the demo will be a rematch of last year’s AFC championship game.

The extended quarter length should provide ample time for Madden Nation to get well acquainted with the new GameFlow system, and in fact is the reasoning behind the five minute quarters according to EA Sports spokesman Rob Semsey: “We felt that 5 minute quarters provides fans the best opportunity to fully experience the GameFlow system, as well as get a feel for the new locomotion and dual stick controls. We’ll have more details to announce, including some surprises, for the Madden NFL 11 demo very soon.”

Surprises, eh? Well I suppose we will just have to wait and see what those are all about, hence the term surprise! Among this veiled information is the date on which we can all expect to test out Madden 11, so we’ll be on the lookout for that as well.
