Speculation arises regarding new Mortal Kombat film
For all you gamers who enjoy lurking on YouTube for information, you’ll be pleased to hear that a nearly 8 minute long Mortal Kombat trailer has appeared on there. All of your favorite characters appear in it, including Johnny Cage (played by Matt Mullins), Baraka (Lateef Crowder), Sonya Blade (Jeri Ryan), Shang Tsung, Scorpion, Sub Zero and Reptile.
Now the question is: are Warner Bros. Interactive being a tease, using live action sequences to advertise a Mortal Kombat 9? Or is there a movie in production that has been kept very hush hush and the trailer released to spark off rumors and excite fans? True, there has been no news about another Mortal Kombat movie in the makings, but anything is possible these days.
The news passed down the grapevine is that MK9 may just be a debut at E3, so come here to check out if the trailer has anything to do with that or not! You don’t want to be left out of the loop, and we’ll be sure to let you know.
I personally hope that it’s going to turn out to be a film, because my ears pricked and I leaned in until my nose was practically pressed against the screen as I watched the trailer. I’m not saying the other MK films weren’t good to watch, because we all love a bit of cheese every now and again, but if this is indeed a film, then it may just turn out to be the first Mortal Kombat flick to be taken seriously.
