Over 40,000 people expected to show at E3
The Entertainment Software Association certainly has been busy this year, because around 45,000 people are going to be packed like sardines in a tin can at this year’s Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3). In February, it was announced that more than 120 companies were along for the ride. That number has swelled to 290, so it’s no wonder that the event will be swarming with developers, analysts, journalists and retailers, eagerly awaiting to get a first hand look at what’s going down, including a few of us from MMOMFG.
Because of the enthusiastic response to the announcement, ESA said that online registration for the event will be closing on June 9th, 11 p.m Pacific time, so if anyone’s interested, you’d better get cracking!
Although the number is significantly more than the 5,000 that turned up in 2008 and 2009, it’s a couple of thousand short of the massive 60,000 that showed up in 2006, where the floodgates were well and truly opened.
The opening act will be on the morrow of June 14th with Microsoft’s Xbox 360 media briefing, and the publisher will host a Project Natal premier event on Sunday night. June 15th is when all the goodies will be shown, and the show comes to a close on June 17th.
If I had mastered the art of teleportation, believe me, I’d be there. Instead, I have to put my faith in our members attending to bring back some juicy news. No pressure there, guys.
