Shred With Wings On in Guitar Hero: Warriors of Rock

Last week, it was mentioned as part of the released details for the new Guitar Hero: Warriors of Rock game that Activision would be creating a new guitar controller for the series. Earlier today, GameAxis was able to grab a sneak preview of these awesome new guitar controllers.

While these guitars cannot actually help out your shredding ability, they do look sweet and are easily customizable. The main difference is that all of the buttons and electronics have been condensed to all be located on the neck and fret board. This change allows for Activision or a 3^rd party to create “wings” that can be swapped in and out at will. This will open people to create some pretty crazy looking guitars by mixing sets of wings.

While the guitar controller will be backwards compatible, what sticks out to me is the amount of revenue Activision will be raking in from this, because people will keep buying new wings since their old guitar looks boring. No pricing details for the wings have been released yet, however, if you do pre-order from Gamestop, you will be able to get the exclusive axe looking guitar below according to Gizmodo. Don’t worry, you have time, as the game isn’t hitting the shelves until September 28th.
