Brees, Big Easy Look to Air Out Madden 11 Cover

*OFFICIALLY OFFICIAL: Drew Brees will grace Madden 2011′s cover. Unconfirmed is if the above pic will be on the cover. If you’re happy or sad about this, let us know, as we’ll be drafting all weekend long. Draft beering that is.

It’s been a pretty busy week for Football fans. Roethlisberger finally got what was coming to him for being a schmuck with a 6 game suspension. McNabb and the Redskins are reportedly experimenting with masochism with talks of  bringing in Terrell Owens (Have you learned nothing McNabb???). The 2011 NFL season schedule hit today, and the Draft is later this week. And I’m forgetting one more thing… Oh! Yes! The 2011 Madden cover athlete is also going to be named later this week, and by later I mean tomorrow!

While it isn’t official yet, Kotaku has put together a pretty good argument for the possibility of the King of the Big Easy to grace Madden covers nationwide. The official announcement comes tomorrow, but with Brees basically winning the Superbowl by himself and his scheduled appearances across numerous talk shows later in the week, it would be an epic marketing fail if he didn’t make the cover. Not to mention look at his competition, Jared Allen, whom I voted for simply for that gorgeous mullet and Reggie Wayne. I’d say he’s pretty much got it locked up. This is great news for Cowboys fans like myself. The first thing you silver and blue faithful may have noticed is the Thanksgiving day matchup, against dem’ Saints.  I’m usually not one to wish ill will on a player, but the Madden Curse is well documented. Troy Polamalu was its latest victim. I rather enjoy my Thanksgiving day game, and dealing with family is stressful enough without throwing in the anxiety of facing the threat of a fully staffed Saints high octane offense. We ruined their perfect record parade last year (Naner, Naner!!!) and I’m sure they will be out for revenge.
