Marvel Vs. Capcom 3 setting the world on fire in 2011

One of the best 2d fighting franchises of all time, Marvel Vs. Capcom is still an extremely popular game to those still faithful to the 2d fighting genre. For proof, look no further to the insane build up and demand of the re-release of MvC 2 on Xbox Live and the PSN.

Today, Capcom announced that Marvel Vs. Capcom 3: The Fate of Two Worlds, will be returning to the 360 and PS3 next Spring 2011.
It seems all of your favorite characters will be back and the game will be built on the MT-Framework engine. The same engine used to make Resident Evil 5 and Lost Planet 2 so damn pretty. But don’t worry citizens of the 2d genre, it looks like Capcom won’t be turning this fighting franchise into a 3d fighter anytime soon as they promise to create a living comic book and blur the line between 2D and 3D graphics (a la Street Fight IV perhaps?).
