Tweak your FIFA 10 Ultimate Team away from home; new EA app

Do you wake up in the middle of the night during far-away business trips and gasp “I forgot to switch Jozy Altidore out for Clint Dempsey!!!”  Do you find yourself cutting off intimate conversations with your significant other and exclaiming “I meant to switch to a 4-2-2-2!!!” No? Well, haha, me neither…

But if you just so happen to suffer from these pangs of FIFA Ultimate Team regret, EA Sports has you covered. Recently the FIFA team unveiled an online Ultimate Team application allowing players to log-in from anywhere and edit their lineups. Just hit up http://www.easportsfootball.co.uk/ultimateteam/app, sign in, and boom there’s your carefully crafted Ultimate Team.

The app is limited, however. You have access only to your player cards, not to Fitness, Contract, Training, or Attribute cards. This means that all you can really do with the app is change your team around, its lineup, its shape, its coach. Thing is, you can easily do this on your console, while playing the actual game, quickly before starting a match. So I am left wondering, what exactly is this online app for.

And then Dustin sends me a screencap of his team, below, and I realize just what it’s for: comparing your team to your friends. I instinctively sent him a quip about how Andrei Arshavin is, in my oh-so esteemed opinion, a diving commie and have a second realization on the purpose of this app: trash-talking.

There’s no download necessary or anything like that, so hop on and scope out your team. Grab a screenshot, or share your lineup, and start throwing the jibes around with your friends. Or just wait till you get home.
