Nintendo Launching new 3d portable device in 2011
This might have flown under the radar, but due to the lack of detailed news we have, I can see why.
In a letter sent to investers, it was announced that Nintendo President, Saturo Iwata will be releasing a new portable gaming machine. That machine, which has been given the name “Nintendo 3DS” will be launched during the fiscal year ending March 2011. Which means the release could be anywhere and up to March 2011, not necessarily in March.
The statement goes on to read “”Nintendo 3DS” (temp_ os gpomg tp be tje mew [prtab;e game machine to succeed “Nintendo DS series”, whose cumulative consolidated sales from Nintendo amounted to 123 million units as of the end of December 2009, and will include backward compatibility so that the software for Nintendo DS series, including the ones for Nintendo DSi, can also be enjoyed.”
It’s also stated that the 3d effects within the games can be enjoyed without the use of any special glasses. Oh my, it looks like Nintendo is re-releasing the Virtual Boy. Three cheers for red hues and migraines! More information about the console will be detailed at E3.
