Mass Effect 2: Kasumi PDLC Price Announced

Kasumi, Mass Effect 2 DLC, New Mass Effect 2 Character

It’s been a grand few weeks for owners of BioWare titles. The Dragon Age expansion was recently released, prior to that Mass Effect enthusiasts got a shiny new toy; and the weeks ahead look just as plentiful with the Hammerhead and Firewalker missions hitting the Cerberus Network tomorrow (March 23), and the all new Kasumi: Stolen Memory PDLC coming shortly after. We previously touched on the newest addition to Shepard’s band of highly efficient killers, but new details have surfaced and as promised we wanted to pass them along.

The most beckoning question about the first PDLC is price. Considering most of us have been spoiled with free DLC up to this point, you will be glad to know you won’t have to break the bank to take advantage of this new content priced at 560 MP (around 7 bones). Not a bad price and though there has been no official statement on playing time, based on the price tag and description of the mission I’d guestimate somewhere around one and a half to two hours of game play. In addition to the new character and mission, you will also be getting a new research upgrade, one new weapon and one additional achievement for all you gamerpoint junkies out there.

It’s understandable if you might question the motives of this PDLC as a money-maker that reeks of tack-on content, I am one such skeptic, but BioWare Studio General Manager Aaryn Flynn is here to reassure us: “Kasumi – Stolen Memory is a testament to our promise to continue to provide fans with new, compelling, high quality post-launch content.” The statement doesn’t necessarily alleviate my skepticisms about how the PDLC will fit in with the rest of the story, but BioWare hasn’t let me down yet in terms of new content and I look forward to delving into a new character that is hopefully as rich as her predecessors.

The new PDLC is set to hit Xbox 360 and PC April 6.
