AvP map pack gives you new places to behead

Aliens vs. Predator - The MMOMFG Review

Fans of Aliens vs. Predator who didn’t pony up the dough for a Special Edition set are getting a few new multiplayer maps. With the Swarm Map Pack, Rebellion has opened up the extra boards previously exclusive to the game’s Special Editions to the lot of us.  For most, this simply means more locales in which to behead and dismember Colonial Marines. From the few images available so far (which you can see below),we’re looking at more dark and dingy tunnel-like human installations as well as run-down Predator temples.

If you ask me (and why wouldn’t you? I heart this game and have put many hours into it’s multiplayer component), this is a much-needed addition to AvP. If you, like me, didn’t go for the Special Edition then the limited number of multiplayer maps that came with the original release probably got old after about a week. While it’s not the environments that keep me coming back for more (it’s the beheadings, duh), a change of scenery is always nice, even if that change is for more of the same.

The Swarm Map Pack includes 4 maps and will cost you about 7 bucks on XBox Live, Steam, and the PlayStation Store. The pack is available now, so get to it: you’ve got marines to slaughter.
