Meet the new addition to the Astro Headset collection, the Astro A30. While looking similar to the A40’s this new headset has been given a jack-of-all-trades labeling by the professional headset maker. They claim it will be your new go-to pro grade headset and that it is truly a cross-platform headset for gamers on the go.

From what the side by side comparison breaks down, this new headset will feature a dual mic system; a removable boom mic and an inline mic. Astro has designed their new hardware to be able to swap between consoles, pc’s, and even your phone so you can take them wherever you might wander. Also, you should note that this headset is supra-aural, meaning it rests on your ear, unlike the A40 which is circumaural which sits around (cups) your ear.

The headset also features a rather different audio setup, whereas the A40’s have excellent mid-range response, the A30’s are a more “traditionally” tuned setup with boosted responses on the lows and highs. What does that mean for you? It means BOOM HEADSHOT could actually take your head off.

And now, for the bad news: these puppies only run $50 cheaper than the A40’s, at $149.95 and $229.95 with the Mix Amp they sell. Either way, this company is in it to win it and if you want to join them at the top, check em out here.
