Bit.Trip Runner: A Fist Pumping Good Time

Bit Trip 1

Runner, Gaijin Games latest addition to the Bit.Trip series, was finally displayed at the GDC as detailed by Destructoid. Release dates have yet to be announced but it will be available on the Wii’s downloadable section for 600 points. The game centers on Commander Video as he trapezes through 36 unique levels. With each jump and slide over and under objects creates an 8-bit beep which forms a simplistic chiptune soundtrack in real time.

The previous titles (Beat, Core, and Void) had been very abstract and allowed for a few more mistakes during game play. But with Runner, one mistake and a beep later you will find yourself back at the beginning of the level. Building a rhythm through trial and error is the only way to succeed.

Could this be a new way to DJ for a party? Invite all your favorite neighborhood guidos over and let them blow your mind with their sweet fist pumping dance moves as you drop a Bit.Trip runner beat fresher then Pauly D could ever dream of.
