Ken Rolston, who led the teams for both Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind and Elders Scrolls IV: Oblivion is ready to jump back into action with a new project. Not only that, he has the backing of Curt Schilling’s 38 Studios and EA as his publisher.

We don’t know a whole lot about  “Project Mercury”, but what we do gets us excited.

1. We’re big fans of anyone or anything having to do with Elder Scrolls
2. The art direction is by Todd McFarlane
3. It takes place in the universe created by best selling fantasy author R.A. Salvatore (writer of the Forgotten Realms series)

We now know that “Project Mercury” is an RPG set in a fantasy realm and has the financial backing of EA. All they need now is Jeremy Soule on their team and I will officially need a new pair of pants. The title is scheduled to come out for the PS3, Xbox 360, and PC.

You can check out the official press release and the 38 Studios website here.

Once we know more, or have any kind of conceptual art, we’ll be sure to keep you updated.
