Microsoft unveiling Project Natal lineup at E3
Microsoft has confirmed that they will be showcasing some major Natal power come June 2010 at this year’s E3. The company claims they will be showing their full line up, and I’m sure it will consist of more than just playing with Milo and his dog. So who might be showing off some serious motion capture gaming action? To name a few, Activision Blizzard, Bethesda, Capcom, EA, Square Enix, THQ, and Ubisoft. Quite the juggernauts’ list if I do say so myself. I just hope they dress to impress, or move to the groove so to speak.
I think it’s safe to say the staff here at MMOMFG is more or less on the fence about Natal. I’m all for advancing the way we play and interact with games. I think this type of technology could really enhance and provide a unique experience in sports and shooter games. My fear, however, is that developers will start to cater more to the Natal in terms of what is fitting for motion technology rather than the quality of content and trying to push the envelope on what they are producing. I have a Wii for all my party game needs, thanks. I am counting on Microsoft to take this whole motion craze in a new and exciting direction, and I think E3 will be a huge stepping-stone in determining whether or not that vision will pan out.
