Gaming of the Future? iPad officially priced, dated
Oh mighty lords of the tablet, we welcome your gifts from the heavens. Apple rarely does anything wrong, but there could not be more controversy amongst the staff here at MMOMFG. Apple officially announced today that the iPad, the latest tablet smart mobile device, will be on shelves on April 3. This raises the level of argument amongst our staff of who will be getting one and who actually cares. The iPad delivers a number of multifunction processes that should attract the masses, including music, movies, gaming, eReader capabilities and web-browsing.
The WiFi enabled iPad will be released on April 3, and the WiFi and 3G connected iPads won’t be coming out until later in April. Pre-orders will begin next week at Apple stores, so you can avoid those long lines and camping sessions. The pricing has also been confirmed, as speculation had stirred since the initial Apple press conference last month.
MTV’s Multiplayer blog has listed the prices as below:
WiFi Enabled
16GB – $499
32GB – $599
64GB – $699
WiFi/3G Enabled (Not including monthly service contract)
16GB – $629
32GB – $729
64GB – $829
If you’re equally stoked as I am, we”d love to hear about it. With the iPhone and iTouch delivering some incredible sales numbers for mobile gaming and having helped increase gaming’s exposure with the casual audience, everyone should be excited about the upcoming iPad release.
