March is shaping up to be a great month for gaming fans, and what better way to kick it off than with a good old fashioned rivalry. Battlefield: Bad Company 2 hits stores today and poses a threat to the corpulent Modern Warfare 2 masses, as I am sure many will switch up their gear to see what all the commotion is about, if only briefly.

If you are short on cash flow and missed out on a few of the more popular recent releases, or haven’t already pre-ordered your copy of Battlefield in order to get that oh-so-coveted exclusive content, you might want to take advantage of a promotion that Toys-R-Us is running. When you buy your copy of Battlefield, you will have the option to get one of the following half-off: Mass Effect 2, Dante’s Inferno, Left 4 Dead 2, or Army of 2: 40th Day (check local ads for participating stores).

I will most likely spend most of the day decorating the battlefield with my virtual bits and blood while I wait for the trickle of news to come in. If you would like someone to show you how to be stylishly blown to smithereens or would just like a few free headshot kills, hit me up on Xbox Live, GamerTag jmerc015. And be on the lookout for the MMOMFG review of Battlefield: Bad Company 2 taking the interwebz by storm later this week.

Note: There is also a little game by the name of MLB 2K10 hitting shelves today, if you are into that kind of thing. Walk tall and swing a big stick.
