Activision taking creative reins on Call of Duty Franchise

activision

Unless you’ve had your head in the ground, or have no soul, you have probably heard by now that studio heads from Infinity Ward and Activision have parted ways. Details surrounding the separation are still a bit hazy, whether they were fired or simply left and for whatever reason is really beside the point. The fact is that IW studio heads Jason West and Vince Zampella are no longer a part of the IW or Activision team. What does this mean for your precious Call of Duty franchise you ask? Kotaku is serving up some answers.

It sounds like Activision has taken the creative reins and is moving the franchise in the direction they please, and will be exploring new developers and studios for their future releases. All you Modern Warfare 2 fans out there who are freaking out that you might not get any new content can put down the Xanax. Even though the head honchos that birthed your online warfare addiction may have gotten the can, you will still be seeing two downloadable map packs sometime this year. That’s enough to frag your pants about, right?
