Final Fantasy XIV Beta date announced

The date is March 11th, the year 2010.

First reported by 1up.com, Square-Enix made the announcement during their VanaFest2010. VanaFest is a festival dedicated to their first MMO baby, Final Fantasy XI. It seems like it’s still churning away with no chance of stopping until XIV comes out.

As of now, the beta coming out will be of the closed variety but fear not, all betas open up to a larger and larger audience (MMOs being specifically inclined to let the more people join throughout the duration of the development cycle). And even if you don’t get selected, the title is due out at the end of the year (first quarter 2011 for you pessimists). In the meantime, you can go play the other 100 Final Fantasy titles out there.
