Dragon Age: Grey Wardens, Meet your new ally – Mhairi
Calling all Grey Wardens, ready yourselves for a new ally in the ongoing battle against the darkspawn. Despite what original race and path you chose in your game, all will reap the benefits of the newly acquired knight of the Order, Mhairi, when she claims loyalty to your party and hits consoles and PCs via the Awakening expansion later this month. While she looks quite feminine, this little pistol means serious business. I wouldn’t get caught staring at her bazongas or you might lose your eyes to the tip of her broad sword.
The upcoming Dragon Age expansion will run you about $40, but BioWare has managed to keep the title fresh between the initial release and the Awakening expansion. Despite my play through of Dragon Age having been horrendously delayed (thanks in large part to my girlfriend’s obsession with the game), I love what BioWare is doing in terms of handling DLC (both Mass Effect 2 and Dragon Age). First, most content is free to owners of an original copy. Second, they tease out what they release over time instead of just crapping out 2 DLC packs and then moving on to the next project, leaving me feeling like the flavor of the week. The way they slowly leak new content keeps me interested in the game and adds enormous replay value, and makes me feel like they really have my best interest, as the consumer and the gamer, in mind.
