Aliens: Colonial Marines, not quite dead
With the success of Aliens Vs. Predator and the talk of a sequel already in the works, it looks like another Aliens game might just see the light of day once again.
Thought dead in the water after the team was drastically cut by Sega, Aliens: Colonial Marines, might be getting another shot at life. With work almost completely done on Borderlands (one more DLC to go), the team at Gearbox might be looking for something to do. That something might come in the case of a few chest bursters and acid blood. President of Gearbox, Randy Pitchford talked with MCV and said “We have an Aliens game with Sega and 20th Century Fox which we’re really excited about,” he told the site. “It’s the thing I’ve been stealing from all my career. Now I’m really working on it, but we’ve been quiet about that so far.”
He doesn’t exactly say Colonial Marines but I’m not aware of any other type of Aliens game. Unless he’s referring to “Alienz” the Ubisoft title in which you grow a little Alien and breed to play with other little Alienz. Though I highly doubt that.
No word on a release but expect the enthused developers at Gearbox to strike while the iron is hot.
