NBA Jam ballots now open

NBA Jam header

The biggest “election” since the Presidential race, and arguably the most prevalent of your gaming career, is going on right now at EA. No, you will not be voting on the next CEO of EA, but the nice folks are giving you, the fans, the opportunity to decide who gets to be immortalized in virtual history forever in the upcoming NBA Jam Wii release. No official date is set for the release of the game, but the voting site says to be looking for it as soon as this Fall 2010.

Here’s how the voting works. Visit the link above. Now cast your vote. Each week, three different teams will be up for vote, and for each respective team you can vote for your three favorite players to make an appearance come Fall. Check back often because as I said, only three teams are up for vote at a time.

The best part of this “election?” You don’t have to be 18, heck you don’t even have to register. You just have to have the skills to break some ankles with a sick spin move, the will power to control a basketball made of hell fire, and the lung capacity to give a proper BOOMSHAKALAKA!!! when you punch your votes.

Excellent idea. EA is finally stepping up somewhere besides the FIFA and NHL series and giving the fans and customers some voice. NBA Jam was always one of my favorites back in the day, lets hope the screens show that this one will be just as good.

This is nice to see. I personally don't like the NBA anymore, which means I won't buy the NBA Live or NBA 2K games. However, I loved NBA Jam so much as a kid, that I probably will buy (or at least rent) this game.
