Mario Galaxy 2 and Metroid: Other M given possible release dates
If the boilings of the interwebz are to be true, the Summer will be a great time for Nintendo fans.
According to IGN, during the Australian Media Summit for Nintendo, the summer months of June through August could quite possibly be cooking with the release of both Mario Galaxy 2 and Team Ninja’s Metroid: Other M. It comes as a shock to us that two of Nintendo’s hottest franchises would be released so soon and not during the Fall-Winter rush.
Obviously, this is for Australia and IGN reports that the US media summit (which is today) will solidify the dates for us Americans. If anything, this leaves a prominent opening for one particular Master Sword wielding elf to hit the shelves this holiday season. Three stellar titles this year would be a great boon for Nintendo as their lack of first party franchises during the past two years has been a bit underwhelming, to say the least.
*Update: Mario Galaxy 2 has received a May 23 launch date. Metroid: Other M is slated for release on June 27.
