Headshots not the only thing to blow minds in Battlefield 3

The next numbered installment of Battlefield could find its way to consoles, says former CEO of DICE when asked by Gaming Union.  While a majority of gamers and developers are anticipating the upcoming launch of Battlefield: Bad Company2, rumors are starting to surface on a third installment to the game that originally kicked off the whole Battlefield craze.  During his time with DICE, Frederick Liljegren worked on the PC side of things, but reports that the franchise was likely moving towards console releases when, or if, the next Battlefield segment rolled out due to declining numbers of PC users (though Battlefield 3 will still be available for PC).

While details are still transparent, at best, surrounding the new release, judging by the tone of the press release given by Liljegren, be prepared to have your mind blown. The waging war between whose bloodied battlefields are better between gaming loyalists has been heating up for some time now. Liljegren’s remarks should be good news for loyal Battlefield fans that have likely been putting up with jabs from loyal Call of Duty fans with the Modern Warfare 2 release. And while Battlefield: Bad Company 2 should provide for some compelling ammunition in their debating arsenal, any new Battlefield 3 details would provide for much needed support. We will be keeping our ears to the ground for any new details coming our way, so be sure to check back often.

No source = fail. Theres no mention of "The next numbered installment of Battlefield could find its way to consoles, says former CEO of DICE." on http://www.gamingunion.net/news/battlefield-3-wil…

We've sourced Gaming Union. It is all good in the hood. Typically we source at the bottom of our posts. Fixed for clarity and thanks to Gaming Union, all hail the Union of Gaming!

You'll notice my statement wasn't in quotes therefore requires no source. But you should read your link Mr. Smarty Pants: Liliegren: "Well I knew that they were going to the console route because the numbers on the PC where dwindling." I simply interpreted that to mean we might see Battlefield 3 on consoles. Considering the lack of details surrounding the game it is not completely out of the realm of possibility.

yea well it prob will go to consoles coz consoles are taking over and pc gaming is dying. get used to it and deal with it, the sooner you do the better coz its a fact and its already on going

      PC gaming isn't dying.

PC gaming isn't dying, look at World of Warcraft raking in cash hand over fist. When Blizzard releases WoW: Cataclysm, StarCraft 2 and Diablo 3, PC gaming will be alive as it has been in 5 years.

I'll have to disagree with you. Companies like Valve and applications like Steam are doing a great job of keeping the PC gamer alive and well. It might not be as thriving as it once was in the 90s but it's still a very good market. And games like this are a prime example as to why. A FPS is always and will always we better on a PC vs console.

      • souljaboi

and the only reason it is better is because of the mouse keyboard setup, all these new fps games are just ports from consoles.
devs priority: console 1st, pc 2nd. thats my point and unfortunately its true, i wish it wasnt

        • http://intensedebate.com/people/JustinMMOMFG JustinMMOMFG

True, though I don't think Bad Company 2 is going to be a "port". DICE has been a PC lover from the beginning as has the Crysis team. Though, you are right for 99% of the rest of the industry. But let's not forget the MMO market. There really hasn't been a console MMO that has taken PC gamers away from the PC and onto their 360 or PS3.

    just take a look around
    it is.
