Assassin’s Creed 3 multiplayer explained a wee bit more
You know Assassin’s Creed 3 will follow Ezio to Rome and include a multiplayer element. Today you will learn more about this multiplayer element; just a wee bit more.
Speaking to Kotaku‘s Stephen Totilo at the D.I.C.E. Summit yesterday, Ubisoft creative director Patrice Desilets and Assassin’s Creed series lead writer Corey May said that the next AC installment will have a full single-player campaign alongside the multiplayer element. Well, scratch my hopes for an Assassin’s Creed MMO of sorts.
The two went on to say that Assassin’s Creed 3′s multiplayer will be “narratively justified.” What does that mean? I think it means Ubisoft won’t be cramming deathmatch modes down our throats. It could mean that the multiplayer element will be a co-op based system. It’s not that much of a stretch to imagine the narrative justification for multiplayer being that Ezio needs a buddy to help him overcome certain obstacles.
This is pure speculation on my part, of course. Ubisoft is aiming to launch the game in March of 2011, and we look forward to more details coming out closer to the date. Stay tuned, because you know we’ll update you.
