Mass Effect 2 Promotional Armor DLC
If you are any type of gaming fan, for the past couple of weeks you have probably been bathing in the biotic glow that is the prowess of Commander Shepard and Mass Effect 2, only to be interrupted by the fodder of rumors surrounding DLC. I’m sure by now that you all have heard that some brain child misplaced a bunch of armor and equipment for free on Xbox live before rudely pulling it down before many of us got a chance to get our hungry little hands on any of it. What you may not be so familiar with is that EA/Bioware teamed up with Dr. Pepper to promote the game and gave those who bought the cola product a chance to win a redeemable code good towards exclusive in game DLC. I was extremely frustrated when I found out I had missed out on the big haul in getting some free DLC, but I was able to take advantage of the Dr. Pepper promotion.
The promotion is long since over, but I recently found out that the codes are reusable and wanted to share the wealth with those of you who may be out of the know.
The codes I got are:
CBEEAAA41NWH
CBEEAAAFQG9J
To redeem the codes you will have to create an account on the Dr. Pepper promotion website (http://www.drpepper.com/promotions/ea/signin/) and fill in all pertinent information. Once you’ve done this you will be able to click a tab where you will be redirected to an EA login screen where you will have to log in using your email and password that is consistent with your Xbox Live and Cerberus account. Then, simply select Mass Effect 2 from the list of games, then finalize your selection.
The catch 22 however is that each code you enter is linked to the email you sign up with, so you will only be able to get one item per email that you sign up. If you want all three, all you will have to do is repeat the process but with a different email, you can even use the same code (remember always use the same EA login, otherwise you will not be able to claim the item). Like playing pranks? Use a friend’s email to claim a second or third item and spam their inbox in the process. Otherwise, just make one up. Since the site never asks to validate email you can just make up an email and proceed that way.
Next time you log in to the Cerberus network your content should be ready for download. It’s not much but it is some pretty snazzy headgear. Shepard is already the spokesman for BAMFs galaxy wide, he might as well look good doing what he does best. Besides, do you really need another excuse to play through this eyegasm of a game again? Oh, and if you use one of these codes you might at least consider picking up a bottle of Dr. Pepper next time your at the store, I’m no spokesperson but I do believe in Karma and nothing in this world is free.

Effect: Increases power damage by 5%
Sentry Interface
This visor works with the Sentry system, a software application that optimizes an armor suit’s microframe computer. When the Sentry system is running, more power can be devoted to shield management.
Effect: Increases shield strength by 5%
Recon Hood
A hood issued to covert action teams, this model’s optic display interfaces with most small arms’ auto-targeting software, linking hand and eye for improved accuracy and increased weapon damage. Ballistic-mesh fabric and composite ceramic plating provide necessary armor, and the integral air filter helps in hostile environments
