Game Room, Perfect Dark set sights on late March release
Xbox and Xbox Live Arcade are proving that fan boy dreams can come true. With the addition of Game Room to your Xbox dashboard coming this March 24th, 2010, players will be able to relive the glory days of some of the best games of our youth. Game Room will serve as a lobby connecting players and Xbox Live friends and invites them to pit thumbs with one another while basking in the glow of sweet, sweet nostalgia.
Those familiar with the acclaimed and best selling title, Perfect Dark, will be glad to see Joanna back in action, laptop gun and self guided rocket launchers and all, available for download the same day as Game Room. It is rumored that they will be going the extra mile this time around, adding support for online multiplayer and jacking up the resolution to 1080p. For those old enough to remember 4 player split screens, you will be pleased to hear this feature will not be lost when the game launches, a throwback to the pre-online shooting atmosphere. Have a group of friends over, set the kill count to 100 and enjoy shredding each other to pieces in person. Trash talking is always better face-to-face anyway. The game should also have a new feel and control better than ever thanks to the Xbox 360’s dual-stick gamepad.
Some may remember the failed next-gen version that released with the launch of the 360 console, but this isn’t that game. The developers get back to basics with this re-launching of a classic title. And for roughly 800 MS points ($10) you can take part in claiming ownership of gaming history. For those unfamiliar with Joanna Dark, she’s hot, kicks ass, and isn’t afraid to use big guns. Zing! ‘Nuff said.
