After four closed beta test phases, Gala Networks Europe announced today that Allods Online will enter its open beta phase on February 16th. Allods Online is developed by Russian studio Astrum Nival and is the most costly game development project in Russia’s history. The press release gave no hints at a time line for the North American open beta, but since the Closed Beta is currently in its fourth phase, we have to assume an open beta announcement for the North American client is also upcoming.

Allods Online is a free to play and fully featured MMORPG. In Allods Online, you will play as one of 28 different character classes and experience features such as building and piloting your own “astral ship” and participate in Faction vs. Faction, Players vs. Environment, and Ship vs. Ship events. Allods Online is a game to watch in 2010, for sure.  If you haven’t had a chance to check out the game, take a look at these new screens that came along with the announcement.

Anyone who wants to play the Open Beta version of Allods Online needs only to register at the gPotato.eu website, then download the game from the official European Allods Online site at http://en.allods.gpotato.eu/Download/Client.aspx
