There will be Fable 3 news this week, it will piss you off

Fabled game designer Peter Molyneux recently revealed that Fable 3 details would be dropping at X10 this week, a Microsoft event kicking off Thursday.  In a video interview with euro gaming site GameReactor, Molyneux let loose that a Fable reveal would take place this week, but more interestingly let it be known that the reveal would piss gamers off. A veiled, abstract statement from Molyneux? Yep, that sounds about right.

The father of the Fable series said: “There’s some very, very big things happening in Fable…Bigger than you think, and it’s going to really upset people.”  He added that he was most frightened about unveiling the details, as people are going to be “super pissed off.” His words, folks.

The question is simple: what has got Molyneux so scared?  We already know that the third Fable installment will take place in a Victorian time setting somewhat resembling the early Industrial Revolution. We also know the character will assume the role of King or Queen. There have even been whispers that the title could have some sort of Natal support. But none of that comes close to upsetting us, so what is it exactly that Molyneux thinks the gaming public will have a spat over?

What we do know is that LionHead has lined up two Fable 3 videos for this show. Whatever their content, we’ll be sure to post on it as soon as Molyneux faces his fears at X10 later this week. In the meantime, apparently we should all be practicing our spit takes and sharpening our pitchforks.
