Torchlight Troll

Runic Games, developer of Torchlight, has just put out a patch to, what I thought, was a perfect (if not dang near close!) game. I mean sure there was an occasional glitch event here or there, but for a game that brought so much filler to a void that Diablo 2 left so cruelly, I was surprised to hear that not only are they adding more content, but they are tossing quite a few fixes in as well.

As for the new content, you will now have access to five new challenge maps given as quest rewards by the npc, Vasman. The new maps will be set in these five locations: The Tomb of the Awakened, Dwarven Fortress, Estherian Ruins, Molten Prison, and the Black Palace. The developers went on to mention that the maps, albeit only five, will pose quite the challenge and will require you to have your wits about you.

The patch will also include some major fixes in a lot of people’s eyes, especially Steam users. Steam users will be happy to know there is now an on/off toggle for the Steam Cloud feature, as well as a smaller fix to make Alric’s achievement work properly. For the rest of the Torchlighters out there, there will be a few for you, including one I took note of as an Alchemist – Ember Bolt’s damage has been increased in the end game levels. Looking back at the list of updates, I notice the majority of these hotfixes are actually aimed at modders,  so if you make your own content you’re awesome and you know it be sure to check out the list of updates found here, including multiple fixes of misspellings, issues with looped skills, XP recovery from death, rare teleport crashes and more!
