There can be only one with Team Fortress 2′s new Highlander mode

Eyelander

Valve just announced the latest mode that is getting added to the lineup for Team Fortress 2. With Highlander mode, there can truly be only one. One of each class on a squad, that is. The new game mode will pit two teams of nine against each other with only a single class on each team, ie. one Sniper, one Solider and so on. It is obvious Valve’s team still have Christopher Lambert’s Highlander on their mind, since an earlier patch updating the Demoman’s Close Combat Kit featured the sword, The Eyelander, and shield, The Chargin’ Targe.

The new mode is a welcome addition to the ever improving game and active players should look forward to the additional mode. Following Thursday’s patch, or today’s if you’re up late like me, Steam should have the new mode raring to go. We will update you if the mode is unavailable until later, but all signs point to today as the day to proverbially cut your opponent’s F’ing heads off. If you’re a one trick pony and only use the Sniper, like me, then this is your chance to get some much needed playtime under those classes you’ve been neglecting lately. See you on after the patch!
