PS3 gets Bad Company 2 demo tomorrow, XBox 360 snickers
Bad Company 2 is launching across XBox 360, Playstation 3, and PC platforms in just about a month. A demo was dropped last week, but only in a few places. PlayStation 3 owners, the unlucky bunch, haven’t had the chance to shoot up Bad Company 2′s demo yet. That all changes tomorrow, February 4th, when the demo for DICE and EA’s latest FPS parachutes onto the PlayStation Network.
This appears to be a growing trend: publishers staggering the release of demos across platforms. EA and Visceral Games did it with Dante’s Inferno, for instance. But wait, do mine eyes perceive dots to be connected here? Both Bad Company 2 and Dante’s Inferno are published by Electronic Arts. Perhaps this isn’t a trend, but a marketing strategy by EA.
Perhaps it’s too early to tell. After all, Lost Planet 2, a Capcom developed and published title, pulled basically the same stunt back in August/September. Either way, I’m not too put off. At least the demos are coming out for both consoles, unlike Haze, a Ubisoft published FPS that only demo’d on the PS3.
With this news, any PS3 users tears over the wait should be dried. Jump on the PlaySation Network starting tomorrow to get your hands on the next installment of Bad Company. But don’t expect any sympathy from me. You guys got Uncharted 2 and I didn’t. So keep your QQ’s and pew pews to yourselves.
