Dragon Age Expansion’s new protagonist is a mage with attitude
Hitting shelves March 16th, Dragon Age: Origin’s disc-based expansion, Awakening, will let players return to Ferelden, and then leave to explore some other land. It also promises to answer questions on the roots of the Darkspawn threat. Cooler still, a new character will be added to your party. BioWare have recently lifted the robes on this character: Anders, a mage with spunk.
Brought to the Circle mid-adolescence, and hence bereft of the brainwashing the Chantry provides their younger prisoners pupils, Anders knows what’s out there in the real world of Ferelden and despises the Templar’s control over him and his brethren. The boy’s got … whatever the word for “moxie” in Ferelden. If you ever got sick of Wynne’s too-goodyness, Anders will be a character right down your alley.
I usually stay away from rolling a mage in RPGs, they’re just not as much fun as a tank or brawler to me. But this guy’s name is so close to mine, that I already love him. For a closer peek at Anders, check out the screens in the gallery below.
