EA has one Hell of a commercial planned for Super Bowl XLIV
EA will run its first Super Bowl Sunday ad this upcoming weekend at Super Bowl XLIV in South Florida. With over 100 million viewers, EA feels the cost warrants the return when they expose their Dante’s Inferno trailer to the world. The estimated cost of a 30 second spot at the Super Bowl is expected to cost around $3 million. EA expects their Dante’s Inferno video-game port of Dante Alighieri’s “The Divine Comedy” to be a huge success come its release date of February 9. There is no greater platform to run an ad than the Super Bowl, as fans of football, as well as fans solely of the commercials alike, put the ads on the center stage when it comes to consumer’s eyes.
The advertisement, titled “Hell Awaits,” is slated to premier during the fourth quarter of Super Bowl XLIV this Sunday, February 7. Having already ran a beta impression on the PS3 version of Dante’s Inferno, we can’t wait to get our greedy little mitts on a copy. Whether this game will appeal to the general mass of people watching the Super Bowl, only time will tell. Gamers in general should be excited to enjoy some football and watch some video game ads during the big game, even if you aren’t big into sports. It is good to see video games getting love on another avenue to advertise games, like sporting events. If the trailer is nearly as epic as last week’s Mass Effect 2 ad that ran during the NFL’s NFC Championship game, then everyone can plan to be excited. If you don’t like football, expect the trailer up all over the place come Monday, Feb. 8.
