Assassin’s Creed II is coming to the PC on March 16th, Ubisoft announced today. Priced at $59.99, the 2009 blockbuster action title will ship to North American PCs packaged with DLC packs the Battle of Forli and Bonfire of the Vanities.

A special “Black Edition” will also ship for $5 extra, bringing with it “additional features.”  Just what it will entail is not clear yet.  The European Black Edition reported on during the summer listed 3 bonus quests, an Ezio action figure, the game’s soundtrack, a hardcover book, and a couple behind-the-scene interviews with the devs at Ubisoft.  The PC Black Edition is a digital download only, no hard copies, so don’t expect any hardcover parchment books or dolls.  According to a Ubisoft rep the company can’t confirm the full contents of this PC special edition just yet, but our best bet is that extra missions are part of it.

Enough good things have been said about Assassin’s Creed II, I don’t have to tell you again how much I enjoyed it.  I also don’t have to mention again how it was granted the distringuished honor of being named my favorite title of 2009, a title which means…absolutely nothing.

The point is that we all know how much this game rocks.  Well except for PC gamers.  But Ubisoft is out to fix that this March.  To see if your rig can run AC2, peep the system requirements below.

  2. Dustin Said,

We can check on that, but pretty sure it was March 16 for the US PC version. It is March 4 for Euro PC like the other post states. So look forward to Mar. 4 if you're across the pond.
