Modern Warfare patched on the PC
Infinity Ward rolled out a patch for PC versions of Modern Warfare 2 all across the land yesterday afternoon. The update provides a few fixes to bugs and issues afflicting PC players of the record-breaking FPS, including fixes to sentry guns, airdrop marker grenades, and to one weapon: the Winchester Model 1887 shotgun.
You can check out the full list of tweaks and changes below. Most appear to be pretty minor fixes, with the exception of a tweak affecting that little thing you’re holding in your hand. Mouse movement has been made more consistent with this patch, something I’m sure many PC-based FPS champions will be happy with.
- Care Package, Emergency Airdrop, and Sentry Gun marker grenades sprint speed normalized
- Sentry Guns: Improved placement detection, preventing cases of Sentry Guns inside geometry
- Model 1887: Bling using Akimbo and FMJ combination now has same range and damage as non-Bling Model 1887s
- Improved player collision removing cases of getting into geometry and ‘elevators’
- Mouse latency tweaks for more mouse movement consistency
- Fixes to prevent various texture and XP hacks
If you haven’t put any Modern Warfare 2 rounds in since yesterday, the patch will be applied automatically the next time you launch Steam.
