Jack the Ripper meets Sherlock Holmes? Oh my dear Watson!

JoWood Entertainment and Dreamcatcher think they’ve caught lightning in a bottle as they pair the world’s greatest sleuth against the most feared and evasive serial killer of all time. Sherlock Holmes versus Jack the Ripper is the fifth rendition of Holmes games by developer, Frogwares, which has already been released on the PC in Europe and North America. Europe currently has exclusive rights to the title on Xbox 360, but North Americans can investigate to Holmes’ bloody little heart’s content come March. Dreamcatcher will release the North American version to the masses, which depending on how you enjoyed the recent movie, could affect your purchasing decisions.

Sherlock Holmes versus Jack the Ripper is in no relation to the film or crew, but the entire time I watched the film, I thought how much a Sherlock Holmes-based Assassin’s Creed title would kick ass. I even spent an hour or so discussing with co-editor Andrew what an incredible title Assassin’s Creed 3 would be if it were set in foggy London-town and you were in the shoes of a competing assassin hired to track down and kill Jack the Ripper. Unfortunately, this title will never happen. But if that got you excited at all, at least you have Dreamcatcher’s game in March… Pick it up now on PC if you’re the sleuthing type or on Xbox 360 in March.
