Free DLC expected at Mass Effect 2 launch
Word broke Friday that Mass Effect 2 could be getting a launch-day dose of DLC. Bioware quickly addressed the rumor, giving fans awaiting the RPG a reason to smile via Twitter:
“Addressing rumors: BioWare will not be charging extra for any new Mass Effect 2 content on launch day. More DLC details next week.”
The tweet all but confirms a DLC pack available the day of launch, and it appears we’ll have to wait a few days to hear more. It practically assumes that downloadable content will be available, lest it be free. Pile on the fact that Dragon Age: Origins shipped with DLC immediately ready, it’s nigh obvious. The only question that really remains is what will be featured in any add-ons that may or may not be available when 2010′s first big RPG hits shelves.
Extra armor and weapons? Probably. Unlockable character or new team member? Dragon Age did it. An unlockable dungeon or city or planet or something like that? Dragon Age kind of did that too. For more concrete info we are at the mercy of the Mass Effect 2 Twitter feed.
