Beam me up Scotty; Star Trek Online enters Open Beta

Just yesterday, well July 2008 technically, Cryptic Studios announced Star Trek Online and the Trekkies of the world rejoiced. Well today, dreams are coming true as STO hits open beta. Fans around the world should get excited to follow in the footsteps of Captain James T. Kirk of the USS Enterprise (read in the voice of Tracy Morgan).

MMOMFG gained early beta access due to FilePlanet subscriptions, but now it is an even playing field for beta users who want to participate in testing the game to help work out of those last few kinks before release. The open beta is slated to run from now until January 26. The open beta is available for FilePlanet subscribers and anyone who pre-ordered the game. The game’s official release date is February 2 in both a regular edition and collector’s edition.
