Star Wars: The Old Republic unveils Tatooine – Sarlacc pit included

Like a slow and blissful morphine drip, BioWare lets loose another nugget of Star Wars: The Old Republic info today.  The RPG maker has unveiled another visitable planet: Tatooine.

A desert wasteland planet that all who’ve seen the films is quite familiar with, Tatooine represents the 8th planet announced so far.  At this time the list goes: Tython, Korriban, Hutta, Ord Mantell, Coruscant, Balmorra, and Alderaan.  The SW:TOR site looks to have room for two more planets, so it may be safe to assume the game will have a total of 10 playable destinations.

For screenshots of Tatooine, check out the gallery below.  As the only planet in the game thats been explicitly detailed in the movies, Tatooine is something of a known quantity.  A New Hope’s cantina scene wowed fans with its mix of smugglers, bounty hunters, and mercenaries – an ambiance that I truly hope comes through in SW:TOR.
