TRANSFORMERS: WAR FOR CYBERTRON starts from the beginning

Anyone who is a fan of Transformers was probably licking their chops for more information after watching the trailer a few days ago. Now they need not lick any further as Activision has given us more information on their upcoming title, Transformers: War for Cybertron.

The last two Transformer titles, based off the movie, were met with mixed reviews. Anytime you’re following the path of a movie, your hands are pretty tied on what you can and can’t do. This however, is a totally different ballgame.

Hasbro and Activision are teaming up to bring you an origins story of one of the most destructive intergalactic Civil Wars ever told. Yes, you will once again be able to choose sides, so fans of both Prime and Megatron need not worry. Another feature that will surely catch on fire is the multiplayer aspect. Now gamers will be able to go online in co-op and head-to-head matches. I’m thinking 100-ton robots kicking the tin out of each other sounds like a pretty good time.

Transformers: War for Cybertron features two distinct storylines: the AUTOBOT campaign tells a story of heroism to save their home planet against overwhelming odds, and the DECEPTICON campaign tells a story of an unquenchable thirst for power to control the universe. For the first time in a TRANSFORMERS title, fans will be able to play the game with their friends through team-based online co-op, or go head to head in a variety of intense, online multiplayer game modes. The game features a sci-fi art style that introduces to fans the entire living, metallic world of CYBERTRON, as well as all-new visualizations of the iconic TRANSFORMERS characters in their original Cybertronian forms.
