Tis the season to be jolly! And with good tidings, we bring the MMOMFG holiday gift suggestions with our new feature, “Twelve Days of Gamesmas”. Many gamers first instinct on Christmas morning is to scan underneath the tree for a familiarly shaped gift.  We’re, of course, looking for the case of a video game – a shape nearly identical to that of a DVD and oftentimes tragically similar to a short book.  These are often the gifts treasured above all else, and it only makes sense that if a game is to be given, it be our game of the year, Assassin’s Creed 2.  Well, technically it’s only this writer’s game of the year.  But make no mistake, Ubisoft’s epic action game set in Renaissance Italy is one of the shining gems in a 2009 bumper crop of modern classics.  The price has gone down just a bit, retailing for around $55 on Amazon, a $5 cut from the launch price.  If you’re feeling creative, surprise your gamer with this Christmas curveball: instead of gift wrapping the game’s case, place it in a larger box and wrap that.
